Mit der Zeichnung des Vitruvianischen Menschen beschreibt Leonardo da Vinci idealisierte Körpermaße im Verhältnis zu Kreis und Quadrat. Das Bild dient als Bezugspunkt und wird zum Untersuchungsgegenstand für die Performer*innen. Das Streben nach Idealen und das Scheitern an der Perfektion sind eine Triebfeder für Tanz, Choreographie und Improvisation. Die Zahl 1.618 ist eine Annäherung an den Goldenen Schnitt, der seit der Antike als universeller Bestandteil für Längenverhältnisse in der Natur erkannt wurde.
With the drawing of the Vitruvian Man Leonardo da Vinci describes idealized body dimensions in relation to circle and square. The image is used as a point of reference and becomes the subject of investigation for the performers. The pursuit of ideals and the failure of perfection are a mainspring for dance, choreography and improvisation. The number 1.618 is an approximation of the golden section which was recognized as a universal component for length ratios in nature since ancient times.
