HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

The most recent work of dance company Hungry Sharks is a choreographed jigsaw puzzle with components of urban dance that invites audiences to join an adventure trip searching for mutual interrelationships. By repeating the same movement sequences again and again, twelve dancers create space for interpretation regarding human encounters and social change.

The idea for the piece originates from the production „Nein Naus“ by VADA. Loosely based on motifs from the Oscar-winning 1980 short film Tango by Zbigniew Rybczynski, the piece evolves along moments of dance intended to make the importance of impulses from our fellow humans transparent and tangible for the audience.

Im neuen Werk der Tanzcompany Hungry Sharks wird ein choreografiertes Puzzlespiel, mit Bausteinen aus urbanem Tanz gezeigt, bei dem man auf eine Entdeckungsreise nach Wechselbeziehungen eingeladen wird. Die 12 TänzerInnen schaffen mittels repetitiven Bewegungssequenzen Raum, für Interpretationen entlang von zwischenmenschlichen Begegnungen und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen.

Die Idee zum Stück basiert auf der Produktion „Nein Naus“ von VADA. Frei nach Motiven aus dem 1980 Oscar-prämierten Kurzfilm Tango von Zbigniew Rybczynski, entwickelt sich das Stück entlang von tänzerischen Momenten, die so für das Publikum die Wichtigkeit von Impulsen durch unsere Mitmenschen begreiflich und erfahrbar machen soll.
